#2-group reminiscence

Dancing Through The Decades
By Kapri Inabinett

During my last year of junior high school, at Stephen A. Halsey JHS, some friends and I put on a show. The show would consist of different dances and music that was popular during the 1850's-1900's. We gathered students from every grade and had them go through an elimination round that lasted about of month. We had practice scheduled by grade, 6th grade had practice on Mondays, 7th grade had it on Tuesday, 8th grade had it on Wednesday, 9th grade had it on Thursdays, and on Fridays every grade came together for practice. Every day before dancing, we took attendance then stretched. Its important for us to stretch because we wouldn't want anybody pulling a muscle. Then came dancing. We seperated everybody into two groups, each group having their own music. The task was to come up with a routine for that song. Meaning everybody had to work together. We had a couple of arguments and some physical disputes but at the end of the day everybody was focused on putting on a good show.
