Compassion
" If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion. "
-Dalai Lama, Tibetan Buddhist Monk
The quote is stating that in order for others to be happy we must show compassion. This is basically common sense because when growing up we were told to show others respect, compassion is somewhat the same, but with more emotion. The quote then states that if we want to be happy, we must practice compassion. This sentence is implying that when we practice or show compassion we will be happy. This is leaning towards the first sentence. But the second just says it will make us happy. I agree because when we show others compassion or any other type of feeling that implies our generosity, we are making someone happy, or proud. This is why we will be happy, because we practice compassion on someone. For example, say one person is having a bad day, now instead of that person being rude and nasty to other people, causing them to have bad days as well, the person can show them compassion. It may not make their day go better but at least they know someone else isn't feeling as bad they do.

essay 3
Personal Experience
I reflect to personal experience in areas in which i think it would apply. Ways in which it may help me in the future or present. An example can be me going to camp at a young age. This experience at camp can help me ready my baby sister for her first summer at camp. That way she wont be nervous but excited.
At the age of ten, i had the opportunity to manage a school play. I got to plan out the costumes, roles, and dance routines. The play turned out very successful. In junior high school, many of my friends wanted to put on a dance production, but had no idea on where to start. Me having past experience in show production helped out and gave advice. I helped make the music, pick out who should be in which dance or scene. My friends were happy to have me aboard. The after affect turned out great. Everybody had a good time doing the performance, and everybody enjoyed watching it.
